This 1,250 sq ft Capitol Hill rowhome, built in 1927, underwent a thoughtful kitchen renovation designed to blend modern function with a deep connection to nature. The homeowner, an avid gardener and home cook, envisioned a space that would maximize views of her lush backyard while significantly increasing kitchen storage, countertop surface area, and overall usability.

We demolished a two-story masonry flue and installed a steel beam along the back masonry wall to allow for an uninterrupted row of windows. Two walls of the kitchen feature floor-to-ceiling cabinetry, providing ample storage space. The new coffee and beverage station sits neatly behind recessed pocket doors, offering both practicality and minimalist design when closed.
