Though this is a newer home with a large kitchen space, the design, style and functionality were lacking. The space needed to work better for three active kids, dietary restrictions and a family that is always on the go. In addition, the kitchen is visible from every point on the first floor and needs to set the stage for the overall style and feel of the property. An overhaul was in order.

Custom cabinetry in a soft white and warm oak surrounds the space and forms the basis for the design. Lacquered brass at lighting and accessories is contrasted with polished nickel at the faucet and cabinet hardware. The blend of metals brings energy to the space as does the contrasting cabinet finishes. The large island houses a beverage fridge and microwave while providing generous space for casual dining, homework and entertaining. Finally, the bold wood beams that match the cabinetry keep visual interest from floor to ceiling in this cohesive design.
