This 1980s home renovation in Richmond reimagined the space with a fresh, modern approach while improving function throughout. On the main floor, new flooring sets the tone alongside an expanded kitchen, featuring custom millwork and a central island that replaces the former peninsula.

In the living room, a dated, non-functional fireplace was removed and replaced by a gas fireplace, accented with clean shelving on both sides. We also removed the old wainscoting and the very dated popcorn ceilings throughout.

The powder room was refreshed with a new vanity and updated plumbing fixtures. Upstairs, the carpet and railing were replaced with new tapered spindles and a railing designed to complement the main floor’s laminate flooring.  The main bathroom and primary ensuite were thoughtfully reconfigured to better maximize space, allowing for a significantly larger and more functional ensuite shower.

The renovation was completed with new flooring in the upstairs study/office area. And the entire space was fully repainted, which always helps to brighten and modernize the home. The end result was a much more cohesive, polished and liveable home for our clients.
