In this installment of our Spotlight on Luxury series, we turn our focus to the back patio and the custom details that help create a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor luxury living.
Buffet/Bar Window
Custom casement windows by Windsor Windows & Doors create a seamless indoor/outdoor transition for service, conversation, and gathering. A custom outdoor countertop bar (matched to the height of the indoor countertop) creates a welcoming surface for setting up buffet or drink service to family and guests outside. With a pair of stools nestled up to the bar, the space transforms into a cozy dining spot for two.
Louvered Pergola
Simultaneously innovative, elegant, and functional, the louvered pergola outdoor roof system by Apollo provides endless options for managing shade, illumination, and protection from rain, snow, and more. Each adjustable slat (louver) can independently open, close, or tilt to any angle. This install features a built-in gutter system, integrated electrical support for the ceiling fan and lighting, automatic closure with rain detection, as well as three independent zones that be open or closed selectively.
Four-Panel Slider
A custom four-panel slider from Windsor Windows & Doors allows for minimal impact to the floor plan of the patio or the adjoining family room. The wide span of glass also maximizes the transmission of natural light into the family room. And the five-foot clear opening facilitates bringing the outdoors in and the indoors out, adding to the distinct sense of increased livable square footage for both the family room and the patio.
Koi Pond
With soothing ambient sound and the visual appeal of colorful forms moving just beneath the surface, this custom koi pond / water feature is a luxurious, natural mood enhancer. To accommodate the small school of large koi, this pond is deep and stocked with an assortment of mechanical and biological filtration systems and pumps to keep the water clean and healthy. Finally, the feature is finished with custom traditional stucco to match the rest of the home exterior and is capped with a tile surround to match the patio pavers.
