A First at IBS: A True Custom Home
The New American Home® 2026 marked a significant evolution for IBS—the first show home ever built for a true custom client.
This distinction called for a more integrated and collaborative approach, where innovation, partner contributions, and the homeowner’s lifestyle were thoughtfully woven together. Every element was considered not in isolation, but as part of a cohesive, livable vision.
Spanning nearly 17,000 square feet and delivered within an accelerated 14-month timeline, the home stands as a testament to what’s possible when alignment, trust, and shared ambition guide the process.
The result is a home that feels as intentional as it is ambitious, blending forward-thinking ideas with a deeply personal, human-centered design.
Mission of the Home
Set on a lakefront property in Winter Park, Florida, The New American Home® 2026 was envisioned as more than a residence—it became a platform to advance a greater purpose. Inspired by homeowner Jason Eichenholz and his son Jonathan, the project brought national visibility to the Jonathan’s Landing Foundation and its mission to create a residential community for adults with autism.
From the earliest stages, the project united the build team, partners, and contributors around a shared vision. Leveraging the global stage of the International Builders’ Show (IBS), the home became a powerful storytelling vehicle; driving awareness, fostering connection, and generating meaningful support.
For the Alair Orlando | Kennerly & Co team, this project reflects a belief that great homes are about more than design and delivery—they’re about aligning people, purpose, and possibility to create something that resonates far beyond the build itself.
Vendor Involvement & Impact
The project’s connection to the Jonathan’s Landing Foundation inspired an outpouring of support from partners and vendors across the industry. Many were drawn to the opportunity to contribute to a mission centered on building community and opportunity for adults with autism.
More than $3 million in donated products and services was contributed—an extraordinary collective effort that was matched by homeowner Jason Eichenholz, culminating in a major charitable contribution presented at IBS.
For Alair Orlando | Kennerly & Co, this level of collaboration underscores what’s possible when a project becomes a shared cause—bringing together diverse partners in pursuit of something meaningful and lasting.
