Restarting an ICF Home From Scratch
When Rick and Anu Mayer starting building their dream home back in 2011 they were excited and looking forward to getting finished up and moving in. Then to their horror just a few weeks before being finished they realized that the contractor and the project engineer had not followed the drawings, not followed the building code, and because the house was a poured ICF (Insulated Concrete Form), it could not be fixed.
They had to watch as their almost completed house was demolished. With everything razed to the ground they were left exactly where they had started, with an empty lot.
Fast Forward 1 Full Year
This house will be cutting edge, and in future blogs we will discuss the Concrete roof system, the speed and energy efficiency that the IntegraSpec system has, and we will review the Geothermal system that uses two 650 meter loops 12’ under the foundation to heat and cool this entire custom home.
