Jeff holds a degree in Construction Technology from Appalachian State University and was named one of Pro Builder’s 40 Under 40 in 2022. He has served as President of the High Country Home Builders Association and as Regional Vice President for the North Carolina Home Builders Association.

Committed to giving back, Jeff supports community organizations that strengthen families and promote trades education. He is passionate about initiatives that improve the perception of skilled trades, believing they offer significant opportunities for motivated young people.

Guided by humble leadership and strong faith, Jeff measures success not by accolades but by the legacy he creates, the relationships he builds, and the positive impact he has on others.

With over 30 years in the construction industry, Tray brings extensive hands-on experience, having worked as an Electrician, Lead Carpenter, Superintendent, and Project Manager before becoming Director of Construction.

In his role, he plays a crucial part in setting projects up for success from the start. Tray collaborates with the sales team to develop accurate early budgets and supports initial client meetings, ensuring the project pipeline runs smoothly and aligns with the team’s capacity.

From pre-construction to project completion, Tray is a key resource for Project Managers and Superintendents, offering guidance on construction methods, maintaining schedules and budgets, and implementing efficient processes.
What Tray loves most is helping his team deliver more than just beautiful homes; he takes pride in creating spaces where families can make lasting memories.

Outside of work, Tray enjoys spending quality time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. For him, family is everything and fuels his passion for building homes that truly feel like home.

John serves as the Director of Operations, overseeing the administrative and financial functions that ensure the smooth execution of all projects. He ensures financial accuracy and compliance throughout the organization.

With decades of experience running multiple businesses in real estate, private equity, finance, and marketing, John brings a seasoned perspective to operational leadership. His career is characterized by streamlining workflows, implementing scalable systems, and enhancing collaboration among teams to drive sustainable growth.

John’s professional development includes specialized training in fraud detection under Frank Abagnale and business management studies at the Wharton School of Business.

Fueled by a commitment to transparency, efficiency, and organizational excellence, he leverages his entrepreneurial mindset and operational expertise to support the mission of delivering exceptional client experiences in custom home building.

Sam is a Project Manager with a passion for building and creating. He studied Construction Management and Building Science at Appalachian State University, laying a solid foundation for his career in the construction industry.

For the past six years, Sam has managed projects from start to finish, ensuring that every detail is handled with care and precision. He takes pride in delivering high-quality work and helping clients bring their visions to life.

Recently married in the summer of 2024, Sam enjoys the outdoors and spending time with family when he’s not on the job site. He believes life is about building, whether it’s homes, relationships, or lasting memories. His commitment to excellence drives him to create spaces that truly reflect the needs and dreams of his clients.

Mastin brings a strong background in craftsmanship and leadership to his role as Project Manager. He began his career as a carpenter, spending the first few years working hands-on in the field before earning his Construction Management degree from Appalachian State University.

Mastin has a genuine passion for custom homebuilding and enjoys helping clients bring their visions to life. He prioritizes clear communication and attention to detail, ensuring that the entire building process feels smooth and stress-free. Always striving for growth and improvement, Mastin approaches every project with thoughtfulness and dedication.

Outside of work, Mastin enjoys life in the High Country with his wife and two beautiful daughters. His commitment to both his professional and personal life reflects his belief in building lasting relationships and creating homes that truly resonate with families.

Jason has over 30 years of experience in the building industry, having worked alongside Jeff Smith for the past 16 years. He began his career as an electrician’s apprentice and has since built everything from small projects to homes from the ground up. Jason is dedicated to seeing each job through from start to finish, taking pride in delivering quality work that families can enjoy for years to come.

Throughout his career, Jason has developed strong expertise in construction techniques and site management, ensuring that all aspects of a project are executed to the highest standards. His hands-on approach and commitment to craftsmanship make him a valuable asset, fostering collaboration among team members and clients alike.

Outside of work, Jason is a proud husband and father of three girls, cherishing the time spent with his family. His dedication to both his professional and personal life reflects his belief in building lasting relationships and creating spaces that families can truly call home.

Roger began his career in his 20s working in floor coverings, specializing in carpet, tile, and hardwood. He later expanded his expertise into kitchen and bathroom remodels, building custom vanities and specialized cabinetry.

With a strong background in construction and remodeling, Roger has developed a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality. His extensive experience enables him to provide strong support to the team and ensures that every project meets the highest standards.
As a Lead Carpenter, he utilizes his skills to create high-quality, customized spaces that truly reflect the needs and desires of clients.
