Greenville based The Hubble Group becomes Alair Homes Greenville
Alair, the largest and fastest growing construction franchise in North America, recently awarded Colby Hubble of The Hubble Group the rights to become Alair Homes Greenville. Hubble is an award-winning builder mostly noted for his work as a preferred builder in The Cliffs but has done numerous projects throughout the Greenville area for the past decade. “Alair has a highly rigid awarding process” said Dave Young, regional partner for Alair in the Carolinas. “You need to be an existing, highly successful builder or remodeler to even be considered with Alair, however it’s the people behind the business that is far more important to us. After months of meetings and due diligence, we absolutely knew Colby was the right person to represent Alair in the Greenville area.”
Colby Hubble started his construction business in 2001 in his native Texas and in 2007 relocated to Greenville with his wife Mindy to raise their family. Asking the Hubbles why Greenville and the surrounding area is a great place to live, raise a family and operate a business is like asking a 6-year-old what they like about ice cream. Colby said he remembers it like it was yesterday. “We came to Greenville to visit my parents for the holidays. We were sitting on the front porch and a group of runners came by wearing Santa hats and everyone waved and said ‘hi’ to each other. This was our first insight into the community vibe of Greenville. As we began exploring the area, we just fell in love with it. We knew this was where we wanted to raise our kids and by the next spring we were house shopping. I know it sounds cliché, but the people here are amazing, just super friendly and welcoming.” Colby stated.
As a high-end builder, Hubble immediately established himself locally working for The Cliffs until 2011 when he relaunched on his own as The Hubble Group. He has since gone on to complete numerous award-winning level projects in The Cliffs with true raving fans for clients. This success caught the eye of Alair who was researching for their first Greenville area office. Fast forward a few months and Hubble has now broken ground on his first of seven projects under contract as Alair Homes Greenville.

When asked about local real estate and construction trends, Hubble said there is a big influx of people moving downtown. “I know that a couple decades ago, downtown was maybe not very appealing but now it’s the place to be. With the new art district and so many great restaurants, shops and things to do, people are buying up older homes and immediately renovating them top to bottom or in some cases demolishing to build a new custom home on the site. Being a preferred builder in The Cliffs while also playing an active role in this downtown revitalization is exciting for me and my team which includes my brother Nick. It also allows us to work with the very best architects, designers and trade professionals who bring their skill, creativity and expertise to each of our projects that are truly world class. All of us who call Greenville home are fortunate to have such talented professionals here at the top of their game and take great pride in their work.”
That genuine Greenville community spirit Colby is so quick to point out recently hit home for him and his wife Mindy, who works in the local public-schools. “My Dad was in the hospital for a major surgery and all the neighborhood kids got together and made a poster for him and sent it to him at the hospital. Moments like that are why my family and I are so grateful to be living here with such caring and supportive people.”
