Old Preston Hollow Guest House Remodel
We transformed this 780-square-foot cabana into a guest house for a family in Old Preston Hollow. Originally designed by a renowned Dallas architect, the structure was once a poolside cabana with an open-air covered space, featuring a fireplace, a catering kitchen, two bathrooms, and a storage closet. However, the homeowners envisioned something different and wanted to convert it into a guest cottage for visitors and their college-aged children during breaks. To achieve this, we installed narrow-profile steel doors to enclose the space while preserving the pool view. The catering kitchen and one bathroom were combined to create a full kitchen with generous cabinet and counter space. The second bathroom and storage closet were transformed into a full bath with a walk-in shower and closet. A Murphy bed was added to the living room to optimize space and versatility.
