This North Dallas project began as a simple outdoor kitchen addition and pool remodel but quickly evolved into a luxurious outdoor living space. The design and planning phase expanded to include a complete pool reconfiguration, new retaining walls, and a full landscape transformation. During construction, the homeowners decided to broaden the project’s scope further by refreshing the exterior of the home, adding a new pavestone driveway, a modern metal and glass garage door, an iron gate, a water feature, gutters, and more.
The outdoor living space features floor-to-ceiling Michelangelo Quartzite slabs, slightly offset to allow for backlit accents. The fireplace façade is clad in Onyx Black Granite with horizontal reveals between the joints. Large-format porcelain pavers imported from Italy cover the floors, pool deck, and support columns. The pool is tiled with Indigo Blue glass mosaics and includes waterfall features, fire bowls, decorative planters, and color-changing LED lighting. The cooking area boasts a large gas grill, pizza oven, beverage refrigerator, and stainless-steel storage beneath the appliances.
Given the home’s location on a creek lot, insect screens were installed to protect the space from insects and wildlife. To enhance year-round use, the space is equipped with Infratech heaters and large ceiling fans. The home’s rear exterior doors were replaced with narrow frame picture windows, and a 12-foot sliding door by Western Doors now provides easy access to the indoors.
This stunning design and construction surpassed all expectations, and the homeowners now enjoy a resort-style backyard along with a refreshed home exterior that they’re proud to showcase while entertaining guests.
