- Number of Scholarships: 2
- Value of Each Scholarship: $750
- Application Deadline: May 1 (annually)
- Winners Announced: Late May, aligned with graduation season
Eligibility
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
- Be graduating high school with a combination of academic courses and enrollment in one of the trade profiles listed below
or
- Be currently enrolled in one of the trade profiles at a post-secondary institution and set to graduate in the current academic year
Applicants must also:
- Reside within a 100 km radius of Brandon, Manitoba
- Demonstrate a passion for their trade, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to excellence in their work
Eligible trade profiles include:
- Carpenter
- Cabinetmaker
- Construction Craft Worker
- Concrete Finisher
- Construction Electrician
- Landscape Horticulturist
- Plumber
- Power Electrician
- Roofer
- Floorcovering Installer
- Gasfitter
Applicants must also demonstrate a passion for their trade, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to excellence in their work.
Use of Funds
Scholarship funds are intended to support the purchase of tools, equipment, or supplies needed to begin or continue working in the trade.
How to Apply
Applicants will be asked to submit:
- A completed application form
- A short personal statement (250–500 words) explaining their interest in the trades, what motivates them, and how the scholarship would support their goals
- A letter of recommendation from a teacher, mentor, or employer
- Proof of enrollment
