Traditional Home Addition in Waycroft – Woodlawn

This Arlington family came to us looking to expand their home to better suit their household and modern lifestyle. Working closely with the architect and design team—entirely through virtual meetings during the planning phase—we developed a plan that completely reimagined the space while preserving the home’s original charm.

The renovation included a 7-foot side addition and a 12′ x 12′ rear addition, transforming the home from 1,942 to 3,949 square feet. The result is a spacious, light-filled residence with a new full second floor, three large bedrooms, and thoughtfully designed storage throughout, creating a seamless flow for this active family of five.

Key features of the renovation include an expansive kitchen with extensive cabinetry and generous storage, custom built-ins in the living room that combine function with style, and a raised fireplace serving as a warm focal point in the great room. The primary suite offers two large walk-in closets for ultimate organization, while the dual-purpose powder room discreetly doubles as a guest bath with a hidden shower. Additionally, the main-floor study was converted into a bedroom to comfortably accommodate aging parents, making the home both versatile and welcoming.
